DETAILS
The Roundtable Reading Series is a dedicated space for table readings, offering artists the opportunity to present their work in a supportive and collaborative environment. Each session features a guest dramaturg who provides constructive feedback, with notes sent to the artists to aid in their development process. The Hundred Year Storm is a mother/daughter story about climate change, mermaids, and magic. As a hurricane heads for her town, 10-year old June is tasked by an ancient African mermaid queen with destroying the beast responsible for the storm. Meanwhile, her mother, Eva, organizes her fellow townsfolk to stand up to their corrupt Mayor. With a sweeping score both haunting and beautiful, The Hundred Year Storm is a testament to the power of community and collective action.
