Roundtable Reading Series: Ghost Story
[Hybrid Event] Facilitated by MTF Artistic Staff + A Guest Dramaturg
DETAILS
The Roundtable Reading Series is a dedicated space for table readings, offering artists the opportunity to present their work in a supportive and collaborative environment. Each session features a guest dramaturg who provides constructive feedback, with notes sent to the artists to aid in their development process. To foster community engagement, the first few slots will be reserved for Makers, followed by a lottery system that rewards frequent attendees with increased chances to present their work. Participating creatives will receive a $100 day rate, and the creator will cast participants based on those present, inviting additional actors as needed. Ghost Story is a supernatural western romance musical written by Mel Hornyak (book/lyrics) and Elliot Valentine (book/music). When a gay couple spends the summer in Montana, they haunt and are haunted by two cowboy lovers who lived there a hundred years earlier. Amid mountain wildfires, sun-bleached bones, and the timeless desire to rewrite history, this introspective chamber musical explores queer ancestry, immigrant identity, and masculinity in the American West.
